April 23, 2008 4 comments

I am going back to the basic Typepad comments.   Intense Debate was good and I liked it but after every time I change something on the blog, it gets all buggy.  So I decided to go back to the normal Typepad comments.   If you have any problem s send me an email.  And if you come by here,  leave me a comment to see that it is working.

This way I do not have to worry if the comments are working.

You can sign up with TypeKey and leave a message that way or leave your email address.  And it has a CAPTCHA on it so no bots get thru.

Well I have reached 100,000 visitors on my sitemeter.
I want to thank all the visitors out there.  Without you, I would have given up a long time ago.   Well, maybe not, this is my place t rant and rave about politics without getting into fightt with my Liberal friends.   But it does make me feel good that some people actually come by and look at my little slice on the web.

If you look on my sidebar there is a widget called Mippin.  It is a way to make any website or blog available on a phone that is WAP enabled.   Go and check it out.  I got it from the the widgets that Typepad puts out.  Try it out and tell me what you think.  You can also add favorites and search for news, weather, and what is hot on Mippin.  It is pretty cool

Captain Ed is moving to Hot Air

February 25, 2008 Leave a comment

One of the big news items on the blogosphere is that Captain Ed is moving his port to Hot Air.  He will join Michele Malkin, and leave Blog Talk Radio.   Here is to good sailing fot Captain Ed.

The Road Goes Ever On

Today
brings exciting news and an end to a time in my life that has proven
far more successful than I ever dreamed. Beginning on March 1, I will
begin working for Michelle Malkin, a friend, mentor, and writer I have long admired.  She has offered me a position as writer at Hot Air, and my blogging will appear exclusively there.

That means that I will close out Captain’s Quarters sometime in
March. This saddens me, as it has become my ever-ready home and because
of the terrific community it has generated. I hope that the CapQ
community comes with me to Hot Air, and Hot Air will have open
registration today for 12 hours in order to allow CapQ commenters to
join me at my new digs.

Michelle and I have different voices, and sometimes different points
of view. Rest assured that Michelle respects these differences and
wants them as part of Hot Air. My writing and my viewpoints will
continue, and find even more encouragement than before. In fact, we
look forward to debating on some of these points between her personal
blog and Hot Air, much as we have between her personal blog and CapQ –
with respect, affection, and the absolute belief that we have it right!–Captain’s Quarters

Change in scenery

February 15, 2008 Leave a comment

I decided to change the look around here again.  I am testing a few things out.   So I got some more ads on the sidebar.  Click on them and check them out.  Tell me what you think.  I’m testing Pepper Jam Ads against the Linkshare Ads.   Tell me which you like better.   Do you like the text ads or the ones with pictures on them.  Pepper Jams does not have that many partners yet, but they just started, so I am assuming they will get more partners wit time.   Linkshare has many different partners, but they have been around for a while.   And I have had them for a while but have not had that much luck in anyone going to them

Also I am testing out a new way to put blogrolls on the sidebar.  It is called Blink List.  It is a free site so go and check it out also.

Also check out the sponsored ad  Doing Fine.  they were nice enought ot send me an email and sponsor an ad on my little blog.
