Cantor Loses His Primary

June 12, 2014 Leave a comment

The loss of the Majority Leader’s primary is a truly amazing story. He lost to a little known candidate that was outspent by Cantor by a 25 to 1 margin.

But the biggest surprise was that Brat got little to no support from outside Tea Party groups. The big national Tea Party groups stayed out of the race, as did most people, thinking that Cantor would breeze to a victory. There were a few that campaigned for him on the airways though. Laura Ingraham and Markl Levin were instrumental in getting his name out there and energizing people to vote for him.

But what happened???  Why did Cantor get trounced in this primary???

The spin and causes of Cantor’s loss are a dine a dozen. Was it Immigration reform??? His aggressive slating in Virginia??? His lack of connection to his district??? Or a loss of confidence in the Republican Establishment by his constituents??

I think that is was a combination of all the above. With all the stories about the illegal immigrants being dropped off in the middle of no where because the Government has no way to facilitate the housing of all the Central American children streaming into the country. Then there are a lot of angry stories of his Salting of delegates throughout Virginia. Cantor was in DC when election day came around, and alienating himself from his constituents.  And there is still a big deal of anger at the Republican Establishment throughout the Republican base.

Could this be the shot that will begin the revolution in the GOP??  Will this be the time the Tea Party is going to take over and move the Republicans farther to the right??  Only time will tell, but this is a big victory against the Republican Establishment and could shift the GOP farther to the right

What is going to happen now??  Cantor is going to resign from his post as Majority leader and there is going to be a battle for his spot. McCarthy is the next in line supposedly, but there are others that want to shake things up and bring the Republicans farther to the right.

Speaker John Boehner taps Trey Gowdy to head Benghazi select committee

May 6, 2014 Leave a comment

BY DAVID M. DRUCKER MAY 5, 2014 AT 2:06 PM

House Speaker John Boehner named Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C. to head a select committee to investigate the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate inBenghaziLibya.

Gowdy, a former prosecutor, topped the list of Republican lawmakers Boehner was considering to head the panel. The South Carolina lawmaker won his seat in the 2010 election that returned the Republicans to the majority in the House thanks to a new group of Republican members elected with the help of the Tea Party. Gowdy is a top member on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, aggressively questioning witnesses at several hearings the panel has held on the Benghazi attacks.

“Trey Gowdy is as dogged, focused, and serious-minded as they come,” Boehner said. “His background as a federal prosecutor and his zeal for the truth make him the ideal person to lead this panel. I know he shares my commitment to get to the bottom of this tragedy and will not tolerate any stonewalling from the Obama administration.”

Boehner announced Friday that the House would create a special committee to investigate the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya that left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. He pulled the trigger on the panel after a lawsuit filed by a conservative activist group forced the Obama administration to release copies of emails that it had failed to provide to congressional investigators.

A Tea Party For Obama 3.10.10

Look at all those Right Wing crazy people.    Looks like a bunch of Militia men to me, and they are probably getting paid by the Big Pharma to protest too.

Really do these people look dangerous to you???   Looks more like people you see in Church, the grocery store or the local BBQ, not the mad men the President and the Democrats want you to think they are.

Obama in St Louis

March 11, 2010 3 comments

Yesterday, Obama came to St Louis to once again explain to us Rubes the Obamacare Bill.  At St Charles High School some 400 people attending Obama’s campaign rally, or I mean Obamacare Rally.  Elsewhere in St Charles there was a gathering  of 2225 when only 600 were expected foan anti-Obamacare rally.

The Gateway Pundit has the details:

1,800+ showed up to watch a live video feed from Washington DC. Rep. Todd Akin, Rep. Shadegg and Rep. Pence spoke to the crowd. Mike Pence told the crowd, “I believe America will take back the Congress in 2010.” (The crowd went nuts)

Later in the  night Obama was at a fundraiser for Claire McCaskill.   Again over 2000 people showed up to protest the Obamacare Bill, with a few hundred or so pro Obamacare supporters.  And for the most part it was a peaceful protest, with pro and anti Obamacare people actually singing of National Anthem.

Mark Polege from Keyboard Militia has the details:

Yesterday President Obama graced the St.Louis area with his presence. He is currently touring the country on a “I’ll Try Explaining My Health Care Plan…Again” tour. After his stop in St.Charles at a high school, he attended a campaign (of sorts) with Senator Claire McCaskill who has been, as many other Democrats, on the fence about voting for Obama’s government-run health care plan. Technically, it is a plan/bill that does not really exist…more of that hope for change…but in actuality it is more like the latest Senate bill.

I would have been at the one downtown St Louis, but was not feeling well, but we do have a great bunch of Patriots here in the st Louis area.   The St Louis Tea Party is alive and well.

Tea Party Activists: Audit the Fed!

May 27th, 2009

Fellow Tea Party Activist:

Here is a chance for Tea Party activists around the country to have an immediate impact.  By acting quickly and aggressively, you and I and every other person who stood up for liberty on April 15th will again make our voices heard.

On February 26th, Congressman Ron Paul introduced the “Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009,” legislation that would require an audit of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve Banks.  According to Bloomberg News, the Federal Reserve has committed, lent or disbursed over $7.76 trillion—in tax funds—in just the past 20 months.  American citizens know next to nothing about what they have done with it.  The cash simply cannot be accounted for, including nearly $2 trillion of loans made by the Fed—mostly because the Fed refuses to disclose any information about the transactions.

According to Bloomberg, “The Federal Reserve so far is refusing to disclose loan recipients or reveal the collateral they are taking in return.” The Fed has argued it is actually allowed to withhold “internal” memos as well as commercial and trade secrets information. Bloomberg, on the other hand, has actively filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, demanding the information.

It may be because they don’t even know.  In answering questions from Congressman Alan Grayson (D-FL) recently, Fed Inspector General Elizabeth Coleman testified she could not account for “$1 trillion-plus that the Fed extended and put on its balance sheet since last September…”

Even worse, an email to Bloomberg by Coleman’s office revealed that “By law, we are the Office of Inspector General for the Board of Governors only… Consistent with our authority, we cannot conduct a direct audit of Reserve Bank operations [emphasis added].” An agency of the government created by Congress responsible for over $7.76 trillion in transactions is beyond the oversight of its own inspector general, beyond the oversight of Congress, and beyond any accountability of the people of the United States.

That’s where you come in.  Congressman Paul’s legislation can change all of this. It would require the Comptroller General to issue an audit of both the Board of Governors and Reserve Bank operations, which are run by member banks of the Fed. The audit would have to be issued to Congressional leadership by the close of 2010.

So far, the Act has 179 cosponsors, including 33 Democrats and 146 Republicans.

Here’s the LIST OF COSPONSORS in the House as posted at thomas.loc.gov.  If your representative is not on the list, please give them a call or visit this week while they’re home on a District Work Period urging them to become a co-sponsor to this vital legislation.  And even if they are on the list, call or visit them to thank them and to urge them to encourage their colleagues to also support the legislation.  You can find your Representatives here and your Senators here.

The American people have a right to know where the Fed is sending your money.  With your help, I know we’ll find out.  This is urgent.  Please do not put this off.  The momentum will shift dramatically in favor of the tea party movement if this bill comes up for a vote in Washington this year.

Sincerely,

Eric Odom
