The Sammies in pictures

April 19, 2009 Leave a comment

Over the weekend I went up to Chicago for the Second annual Sammies Awards put on by the Sam Adams Alliance. It was an award show for those that went above and beyond the call in making the Government more transparent and also for helping get the word out about how Free Markets and Liberty are the way for the government to run.   And they has some good presenters for the event in which I got go talk to afterwords.   I got to sit and talk with Michelle Malkin after the party was over with some other fellow Bloggers and Sam Adam employees.  Also I got to talk a little bit with Joe the Plumber before he left, he was leaving in the morning early to go to more events.

Here is a few of us bloggers before the event..

How transparent is your state and county????

April 1, 2009 Leave a comment

The people at Sunshine Review have gone over all the counties in the country and graded them on how transparent they are.   GO and review your state and county.   Here is St Clair County Illinois:

Evaluation of Website

Main article: Evaluation of Illinois county websites

The good

  • County board members are listed with contact information.[1]
  • Meeting minutes[2], meeting schedules, and agendas are all available.[3]
  • Building and zoning information is available.[4]
  • Property tax information search is available.[5]
  • County tax information is provided in the code of ordinances.[6]

The bad

St Clair County is not the worst or the best in Illinois.   Some counties don’t even have a website available.

SAA and the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy

March 2, 2009 Leave a comment

As most of you know I went to a Sam Adams Alliance Samsphere event in Chicago last year.     I wonder if while I was there they implanted a device so that I do exactly as I was told, or are they just a front for Darth Rove and his evil mind control????

I have been told that we have all been implanted with Darth Rove mind control chips. We wer all duped by this group and they even spiked the Sam Adams Lager there the chips, or was it the wine, or coffee????

Well, someone at Playboy has figured it all out.  We are just a bunch if mind numbed robots at the beck and call of Darth Rove and El Rushbo (Rush Limbaugh to those not implanted with the mind control chip).

In all seriousness, this is got to be one of the most ridiculous things I have heard in a long time, and that is even with Obama  speaking.

Here is the response from SAA

Santelli Conspiracy Exposed: It would have been nice if we knew about it

The Sam Adams Alliance regrets to announce that its devious plan to set off “a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign” through manipulating CNBC commentator Rick Santelli has been exposed by an alert team of former Russian journalists now writing for the Playboy website.

We tried to disguise our behind-the-scenes manipulation by removing information from our website about Eric Odom — who now plays a leading role in the Chicago Tea Party movement — from our website when he left to join a Tennessee company.

As the Playboy bloggers note, we even removed a reference to the Koch Associate Program’s youth scholarship program from our website. Admittedly, we did this after the program entry deadline had passed, and after first posting the notice on our website. But these are mere details for those whose investigative prowess was honed covering the Politburo.

In the meantime, the Sam Adams Alliance has been coordinating a project to review the websites of all 3,140 counties in the country. We are measuring their openness against the Transparency Checklist to see whether the websites contain information that should be easily accessible by the public. We are proud to say that with the help of a community of dedicated volunteers, over 3,000 counties have been evaluated. After the final county has been reviewed, we will focus our efforts on reviewing the websites of over 13,000 public school districts, evaluating the transparency of their websites.

Although we’re embarrassed that our hidden role in orchestrating opposition to the Obama Stimulus Bill has been exposed, we’re excited to see this abundance of online investigative energy. We extend a warm invitation to any and all investigators interested in building a better country to join us. The only thing we ask is that when you take part in a project of the Sam Adams Alliance you bring an attitude of objectivity.

Please join our efforts to make open and honest government a reality. Shouldn’t that be everyone’s goal regardless of political affiliation?

Thank you,

The folks at the Sam Adams Alliance

2nd annual Sammies

February 10, 2009 Leave a comment

It is time for the Sammie agins from my friends at Sam Adams Alliance.

NEW- Download a Sammies flyer to post anywhere and everywhere. Post it at your local coffee shop, college art or film department, or at your next taxpayers association meeting.

The Sammies is a contest recognizing bloggers, filmmakers, open records champions, and other government watchdogs committed to advancing individual and economic liberty.

We’re awarding $40,000 – divided among nine different categories – to exceptional activists who live by Sam Adams’ notion that, “all might be free if they valued freedom, and defended it as they ought.”

With prizes ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, the Sammies seek to inspire more people to stand up for good government practices in their communities.

It’s the only liberty-minded contest available, where you have the opportunity to win cold hard cash and (as if that weren’t enough incentive) a limited-edition smashingly handsome golden Sammy!

Voter integrity Project

October 28, 2008 Leave a comment

We all have heard about the ACORN fraud going on all over the country.   But they are not the only one that are disrupting the elections this year.   They has been voter shananigans on both sides of the aisle.   Illegal voter registration, voter suppression and a whole bunch of other ways where each party is trying to rig the elections.   Well, The Voter Integrity Project has a contest for everyone out there to document and stop this kind of stuff from going on.    You can win $1000 and 3 flip cameras.  The lovely Izzy Santa’s video promo for this contest.

This election season, political forces on both sides of the partisan
divide have been documented committing significant vote fraud and voter
suppression
.
These activities negate the votes of law-abiding voters. In order to
both raise public awareness in election fraud and prevent it from
occurring in the first place, the Voter Integrity Project is sponsoring a video contest with $1,000 in cash prizes and three brand new Flip cameras.

The VIP video
contest is a chance for citizens to sound off and fight back… and, in
the process, win some cold hard cash and cool gadgets. Check out our video promo, featuring the lovely Izzy Santa, by clicking below.

Guidelines. The contest’s scope is broad. VIP is looking for both ideas and
action, both theory and practice. Acceptable submissions include (but
are in no way limited to):

  • Rants or demonstrations on how election fraud threatens the democratic process
  • Documented instances of election fraud in practice or other suspicious election-related activity
  • Any combination of the two

Thinking outside-the-box, being creative and showcasing talents are
all highly recommended. One might dress up, go out in public, dance,
sing a song, or present a short narrative. Those with more serious
personalities may video their vote, ask voters questions about the
election process, or document a poll-watching experience. Perhaps even
some real investigative work. Ultimately, anything that helps protect
the integrity of voting.

Requirements:

  • Submissions ought to be under 3 minutes (although longer videos will still be accepted)
  • All submissions must be uploaded to YouTube. Leave a comment
with a link to the video or email the URL to info@samadamsalliance.org.
  • DEADLINE: Tuesday, November 25th @ MIDNIGHT. (Why three
whole weeks after the election? Election fraud often continues well
    after election day.
