The Sam Adams Alliance regrets to announce that its devious plan to set off “a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign” through manipulating CNBC commentator Rick Santelli has been exposed by an alert team of former Russian journalists now writing for the Playboy website.
We tried to disguise our behind-the-scenes manipulation by removing information from our website about Eric Odom — who now plays a leading role in the Chicago Tea Party movement — from our website when he left to join a Tennessee company.
As the Playboy bloggers note, we even removed a reference to the Koch Associate Program’s youth scholarship program from our website. Admittedly, we did this after the program entry deadline had passed, and after first posting the notice on our website. But these are mere details for those whose investigative prowess was honed covering the Politburo.
In the meantime, the Sam Adams Alliance has been coordinating a project to review the websites of all 3,140 counties in the country. We are measuring their openness against the Transparency Checklist to see whether the websites contain information that should be easily accessible by the public. We are proud to say that with the help of a community of dedicated volunteers, over 3,000 counties have been evaluated. After the final county has been reviewed, we will focus our efforts on reviewing the websites of over 13,000 public school districts, evaluating the transparency of their websites.
Although we’re embarrassed that our hidden role in orchestrating opposition to the Obama Stimulus Bill has been exposed, we’re excited to see this abundance of online investigative energy. We extend a warm invitation to any and all investigators interested in building a better country to join us. The only thing we ask is that when you take part in a project of the Sam Adams Alliance you bring an attitude of objectivity.
Please join our efforts to make open and honest government a reality. Shouldn’t that be everyone’s goal regardless of political affiliation?
Thank you,
The folks at the Sam Adams Alliance
