Rush and the Rams and Soros oh my

October 14, 2009 1 comment

It looks like Rush is going to get thrown under the bus because of the intolerance of the Left.  And the funniest thing is that George Soros the Sugar Daddy of the Daily Kos and all the other Leftists out there was also part of the group that was going to be buying the Rams.  But give it to them to screw the pooch and not think of the consequences of the idiocy they were spouting.  many of the out right lies about what Limbaugh supposedly said were also regurgitating in the Sports Media realm, which is no better than the MSM in their total bias in political thought.

As I said before on this blog, I would not care who bought the Rams, as long as they came to put a winning team on the field.  This was suppose to be a business deal, not a political debate.  But guess what, the Left has made this all about politics, and you can count me out of giving anything to the NFL or Rams in the future.  I will not buy a ticket or buy a beer anywhere inside Ed Jones Dome.  I will  probably go to some games because both my dad and uncle have tickets, but to give money to the non sense that has gone on for the past week, well I am not going to be a part of the idiocy that the Left has brought onto the NFL .

I think my friend Eric at the Tygrrr Express had the best post about the whole ordeal yesterday.

This is a business deal. Like any other business deal, it should be looked at through a cold business lens. Emotion and feelings should be banned from the discussion.

Oh well, I am not really that much of a football fan anyway.   I enjoy hockey and soccer better anyway and I can spend a Sunday better on a golf course.

Rush may buy a part of the Rams

October 11, 2009 4 comments

Most of you out there have probably heard about how Rush Limbaugh my buy into the Rams Football team.  And there is now even a Facbook group dedicated to stop the NFL owners approving the sale if Rush is part owner of the team.

Now this is just the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.   The Rams are horrendous on the field this year and are on track to be the worst team in the league, surpassing the Lions.   And if Dave Checketts and Rush Limbaugh can bring the team from the depths of the NFL worst team, then by all means I say go ahead.   Hell, if ALGore, Michael Moore, and Ted Turner wanted to buy the team and make the team a winning team again, I would be all for it.

Will Rush be making the team all hail Conservatism on the field????  Will the Rams games be broadcasting Rush over the jumbo tron forcing his politics onto the fans of the games????

Good Lord people, grow up.   This is not about politics or Rush, this is about putting a competing team on the field every week.

Linehan Fired

September 29, 2008 Leave a comment

I am surprised that it took them this long to fire Linehan.  Do I think the Rams will now go on and win the rest of the season????  No.   There are many more problems than just the coach for the Rams.   But maybe this will be the beginning of many changes for the Rams.

Post subject: Jim Haslett is the new Rams coach

It’s official.

Scott Linehan is out as the Rams head coach. He was fired earlier this morning. Hired before the 2006 season, he departs after 36 games and an 11-25 record. —STLtoday

Rush Limbaugh to own the Rams???

July 29, 2008 Leave a comment

Could Rush Limbaugh buy the Rams???? That would definitely be interesting, since he is a Steelers fan.

Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk radio host, said he would be interested in
buying the St. Louis Rams if the team were for sale. “The Rams
would be a great team to have,” Limbaugh said in a phone interview from his Palm
Beach, Fla., studio. “I have a lot of friends in ownership in the NFL, and my desire to get involved has not been a
secret.” Limbaugh grew up in Cape Girardeau but said that does not play into his
thinking about the Rams. “This is a business decision,” he said. And even for
Limbaugh, whose new eight-year syndication deal with Premiere Radio Networks is estimated to be worth
$300 million, buying into the NFL would be a stretch. “I have no debt
whatsoever. This would require changing that,” he said. “There is a whole lot of
interest in the Rams with the NFL being a business entity that a lot of people
want to be involved in. But it’s becoming a billionaires’ club.”—St Louis Business Journal

Rams owner dies

Georgia Frontiere died after battling cancer.

Rams owner dies after lengthy illness
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
01/18/2008

fter a long fight with breast cancer, Rams owner Georgia Frontiere died Friday in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Frontiere, 80, had been hospitalized for 41⁄2 months. Until word
began to leak out in December, family members and team officials kept
her illness a secret, in accordance with Mrs. Frontiere’s wishes.

But in her final days, she told her son, Dale “Chip” Rosenbloom, and
daughter, Lucia Rodriguez, that letting the public know of her illness
might help others, particularly those with breast cancer or those who
have loved ones with breast cancer.

Over the last several months, Mrs. Frontiere developed complications
from pneumonia, which caused lung problems and limited her breathing
ability. But she kept battling the illness, and her spirits never
sagged.

Rosenbloom said she got by with strength of spirit and never got depressed. “She was smiling and fighting all the way,” he said.
“It was unbelievable,” team president John Shaw said.

Shaw recalled a hospital visit in early January.

The Goal Line

November 22, 2006 Leave a comment

Today I am busting some balls of the local sports teams.  The Blues and the Rams are pathetic this year.  But today at Ram’s Park there was a terror scare:

BREAKING NEWS: Terror Alert in ST. LOUIS .
St. Louis (MO)–Rams football practice was delayed nearly
Two hours Friday after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery
substance on the practice field. Head coach Scott Linehan immediately
suspended practice and called the police and federal investigators.

After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the
White substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE.

Practice resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to
encounter the substance again this season.
