Divided We Fall

Landon Estay has an excellent post at the Free Radical Network today

Republicans must stop the posturing and grandstanding if we are to be successful in Texas and around the nation.  Calling someone a “RINO” because they disagree with you is not going to win elections.  We cannot allow our stubbornness to drag us into defeat.  Instead, we must humble ourselves and work together on the common ground of advancing conservative ideals and the Republican platform.  Let’s fight for our preferred candidates on issues and not character assassination.  Then, we must absolutely support the winner in the Republican primary.  If we continue to have this “I’ll show them” attitude by protest voting or not voting at all, Texas and America will lose.

I have been saying this for a long time now. Calling those that disagree on an issue a RINO is no way to win elections. The Bunker mentality and the echo chambers are harming us more than anything the MSM and the Left have ever done.

We are dividing us into tribes of the right and think that to win we need our tribe to win. This is not effective and will only lead to more losses. The idea of a political party is to win elections with a group of people that have the same goals in both in philosophy and policy. That does not mean that everyone will agree on the same tactic, or same thing all the time.

There will be disagreements along the way. But these disagreements do not need to be an all out war. The goal of any movement/party is to win elections. And to win, you need to gain more to your side than the other side. But we seem to think that we should banish some on our side to eventually win. I do not understand this concept.

If we do not get our heads out of our asses, we will be walking the forest for a long time
