I Won’t Vote For The Lesser Of Two Evils

October 25, 2014 Leave a comment

Idf you cannot tell, we are in election season.  And I always here grumblings form the people that are BUTTHURT that their favorite did not get the nomination. So of course  they are not going to vote for the candidate that won.  WHY???  Well their BUTTHIURTS and they think that this will somehow stick it to the GOP and they will run someone better next time.

Well, that is a terrible way to get your point across. All you do is elect the greater evil.

I got something that I hope people will take to heart. You are never going to get what you want 100% of the time, unless you are elected yourself. It is always better to get someone elected that agrees with you 80% of the time than someone that agrees with you 0% of the time.

Divided We Fall

November 7, 2013 3 comments

Landon Estay has an excellent post at the Free Radical Network today

Republicans must stop the posturing and grandstanding if we are to be successful in Texas and around the nation.  Calling someone a “RINO” because they disagree with you is not going to win elections.  We cannot allow our stubbornness to drag us into defeat.  Instead, we must humble ourselves and work together on the common ground of advancing conservative ideals and the Republican platform.  Let’s fight for our preferred candidates on issues and not character assassination.  Then, we must absolutely support the winner in the Republican primary.  If we continue to have this “I’ll show them” attitude by protest voting or not voting at all, Texas and America will lose.

I have been saying this for a long time now. Calling those that disagree on an issue a RINO is no way to win elections. The Bunker mentality and the echo chambers are harming us more than anything the MSM and the Left have ever done.

We are dividing us into tribes of the right and think that to win we need our tribe to win. This is not effective and will only lead to more losses. The idea of a political party is to win elections with a group of people that have the same goals in both in philosophy and policy. That does not mean that everyone will agree on the same tactic, or same thing all the time.

There will be disagreements along the way. But these disagreements do not need to be an all out war. The goal of any movement/party is to win elections. And to win, you need to gain more to your side than the other side. But we seem to think that we should banish some on our side to eventually win. I do not understand this concept.

If we do not get our heads out of our asses, we will be walking the forest for a long time

Brown won, now what???

January 23, 2010 Leave a comment

I decided to put off doing a post on what the victory of Brown.   As I expected many people have misunderstood what this will mean.    This has put a big monkey wrench onto Obama and the Democrats agenda.

This was not just about Health Care or local issues.  This was a repudiation of the Democrats arrogance and the policies of Obama.   The worst thing that Obama has done was let the Democrats in CONgress decide what will be in the bills and not form his own bill and deliver it to CONgress.   This let the Leftists that have taken over the Democrat Party try and force down the public throat, Bills and a philosophy that everyone with half a brain cell knew would never work.   They are just regurgitating Leftist ideas that have failed in the past and will never work, but the Democrats all know better than us little folks and will make it work because they can do it better.

This does not bode well for the Democrats in the future, especially in the upcoming elections in November.   The House will most likely go back to Republican control and the Senate will gain more Republicans also, maybe not a Republican take over, but many Democrats are in big trouble.

Now with the victory of Brown, the Tea Party Movement has been seen as a moving force in elections.   Brown may not be a Conservative in the mold of Reagan, but he will be a no vote for Obamacare.   He will most likely be a NE Republican in the mold of Snowe, and will give many Conservatives fits.   But as I see it if he is 80% with me, it is better than someone that will be 100% against me

Now what does this mean for the Republican Party itself.   I hope they will not see this as a way to keep on forcing more Moderate candidates on the rank and file Conservative base.   But I will not really hold my breathe on the GOP seeing the Tea Leaves and embracing the Tea Party Movement.

Where does that leave us.  Well, we need to start locally and state wide to get more Conservatives elected.   I think nationally the GOP will still not see what Brown’s win was.  It was not a election of just a Republican, it was the candidate the Tea Party Movement got behind to defeat Obamacare, and it brought out independents and some disgruntled Dems to vote against the Leftward Turn of the Democratic Party.  Without the money, and online activity of many Tea Party participants, Brown would never have won.   Twitter, Facebook, local Tea Party blogs, and various other online activity led the path to victory.  Yes the GOP did give some money and support behind the scenes, but that was after the buzz by online activists, and the possibility of a victory of Brown.  Unlike the NY23 race where the GOP picked a candidate that  eventually endorsed the Democrat over the Conservative in the race.

We need to get involved locally, state wide and nationally.   Join an online political Social Network (there are many out there and too many for me to list here), join a group like Red State or the various other online community blogs where you can voice your opinions, start a blog yourself, and never think that one person can not make a difference.   We are not the Silent Majority anymore, we are vocal and need to have our voices heard.   And the election of Brown in “Kennedy’s Seat” just proves that we can make a difference nationally as well as locally.

Welch for Congress 2010

January 18, 2010 3 comments

No I am not running for anything.  I have too many skeletons in my closet to run, and would never want to go through the scrutiny to run a race.  But this is from a Facebook friend who is running in California, Rosemary Welch.

I am a Christian woman who happens to also be Conservative. I treasure the relationships I have with my family and friends, my pets, definitely my faith, my apartment, and many other things. Most of them cannot be bought.

I became interested in politics in 1990 when I worked on Tom Clark’s campaign for the 4th district seat on the Long Beach city council. It was fascinating. Then I studied political science in college. I had no idea what a conservative or a liberal were. Things have changed so drastically that I can’t help but notice.

I need to be clear with you. I have not always been a good person and sometimes I still am not, but that’s only when I feel my country is becoming more socialist than capitalistic.

As an underage teenager, I ran away from home and was kidnapped and forced into a life I despise. That is why I fight against human trafficking. I was saved August 2, 1990. I was baptised August 2, 1991. Cool, eh?

I have been sober for over 20 years now. I smoke cigarrettes. I rescue cats. (I have a few.) I love ice cream. I love swimming. I’m just your round-of-the-mill ordinary gal.

But I have never been one to sit by and let others do what needs to be done, especially when they’re obfiscating their duties. This is why I chose to run for Laura Richardson’s congressional seat. I hope to work with you during this campaign and after I am elected.

Strong defense, cut taxes, fiscal responsibility for those things that are constitutionally declared, and free and fair markets, and I am pro-life and pro-second amendment. Those are my priorities. Feel free to share your’s with me. Thank you, and have a blessed day.
